national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> good afternoon. the baltimore bird man is out on bail, charged with child sex abuse. jennifer franciotti details the arrest of 64-year-old gregory. >> the suspect has been identified. he is a decorated retired firefighter and avid ravens fan, now accused of child abuse. 2000is how he was in seven, affecting -- accepting the firefighter of the year award. 2007, excepting the firefighter of the year award. was 12 to 14 years old. charging documents say most of those encounters happened in the 64-year-old's home. his neighbor could not believe what he heard. >> i'm very offended by what i've heard.
a man of his age, he ought to know better. >> he is known as the baltimore bird man, who at every home game and community events dresses up in outlandish and colorful hats and costumes. police say these abuse allegations were reported to detective by the alleged victim last month. >> are crimes against children unit conducted a full investigation and found that the victims claims were valid, and subsequently an arrest warrant was obtained yesterday. >> that is when police say that he turned himself in, posting $750,000 bail and was released. according to charging documents, he denied sexually abusing the victim, saying, quote, personally i feel like the victim tried to seduce me. now the victim is trying to destroy me. during a separate police recorded phone call, the victim asked him, was it me? did i initiate anything we did? he answered, yes, 90% of it.
11 news spoke with the man's attorney, who would only say he and his client are looking forward to presenting the case in court. wbal-tv 11 news. >> baltimore city firefighters are trying to find out what caused a house fire in east baltimore this morning. a two-story fire in the 1300 block of east lafayette around 430 -- 4:30 this morning. no words on the estimated damages. officers are dealing with a shooting investigation. man around 2:00 thursday afternoon suffering from wounds. police believe another victim walk to the hospital for treatment. being say this man is held without bail today in connection with the double shooting in pikesville. officers say earlier this month, 20-year-old brandon approached a group of people and opened fire,
hitting two people. he faces first-degree attempted murder charges. this man is awaiting sentencing today, waiting three counts of -- charged with three counts of human trafficking. police rescued the victim during a sting operation at a hotel in april. prosecutors say he was supposed to be on house arrest for a rape charge in ohio. he was reportedly pimping out the victim to pay for his legal fees. survivors of a landslide buried half a village in mexico are trying to salvage what they can. amateur video showed the extent of the damage. army helicopters have been rescuing residents and bringing them to acapulco. around 400 people survived the landslide. tropical storm manuel and

>> covering the nation, the first memorial service for one of the 12 navy yard shooting victims was held thursday. but came ton india, the u.s. in the 1970's. he was a civilian engineer for the navy for 30 years. the fbi says the shooter did not appear to be targeting anyone specifically. we are following development on capitol hill. the u.s. house just passed a bill that defines president obama's health-care law. the measure -- defunds the president's health-care law. the measure now goes to the senate. the house and senate have to pass a funding bill by september 30 to prevent a partial government shutdown. republicans have made a move to cut millions on food stamps.
lawmakers are facing deadlines on health care, the federal budget, and debt limit. tracie potts explains the gridlock on what it means to you. >> billions cut from food stamps, but it's not a done deal yet. we see a vote linking the president's health-care program to a budget that would only take us through 10 days before christmas. the latest budget battle puts payments at risk. supporters worry many of the 4 million who could lose food stamps are jobless. >> this bill is cruel, even heartless. >> today's battle, obamacare. everythingo necessary, and anything possible to defund obamacare. >> any bill that defunds

have ashe maybe a two-month hiatus. we shot 24 episodes are first up for a we got picked couple extra. we got the gang back together in the middle of july. we take the same amount of time in terms of the show that we left off with the hiatus, so we left off with an x girlfriend of my characters coming back. she's pregnant. i been trying to help out my roommate and best friend with her fertility and her getting pregnant, to no avail. we pick up where we left off. the storylines get sorted out, so to speak. >> all in a days work, right, taylor? >> oh, yeah. of course. >> david seidenberg was just in our studio.
just left. he summed up the season for you by saying, you get all the ladies. >> he gets all the ladies. >> i get all the ladies.
